"Dancing Iris"

A couple of days ago I received notice from Expressions Gallery in Berkeley, CA, that the opening reception for their "Spring Forward" show was a whopping success, so I am now able to reveal the full image about which  I wrote a teaser a few blog entries ago.  I am extremely pleased that my art quilt, "Dancing Iris" was accepted into this show that spotlights a wide range of art.

"Dancing Iris
This work is a whole cloth, hand painted art quilt and measures 19 1/4" wide and 41 3/4" long.

Always remember, never fear to experiment.
Sometimes wonderful things happen.

More Stitched Post Cards

When not at the sewing maching making textile and fiber art pieces or at the sink dying fabric or drafting new designs, I might be found creating one of a kind ACEOs (Art Cards Editions and Originals) or painted, collaged, embossed and stitched post cards. Here is a link to a Roxio slide show of some of my most recent creations. Often these become the inspiration for larger works of art in fiber.

Wildlife Habitat Certification

It is indeed a happy day. My property and studio are situation on land that has been officially designated as a wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. The joy of creating is always amplified by views through 24 large windows into the bowers of a huge Sycamore tree and the eye-to-eye visits from many a feathered friend.

Painted, Collaged and Embelished Hen Eggs

The egg form lends itself magnificently to accept paint, collage and embellishment. Just when I've exhausted my creative impulses, another egg and another idea must be rendered.
